Anime World Con 2013 in Chicago Cancelled Until 2014

Anime World just released a statement via their Facebook page about the status of the 2013 convention:

“The staff at AnimeWorld like to sincerely apologize for the lack of information coming from our end. We know you’ve all been waiting patiently for good news regarding the 2013 con year.

Unfortunately, we will not be having a convention this year in Rosemont. Our con chair has been in negotiations, but we have been unable to find accommodations large enough that would be able to hold our convention due to the large amount of reservations by other organizations for the venues that we have looked at. Since we would rather not have to turn away people at the door, we have decided to work on procuring a larger location for 2014 and will not be having a convention this year like we planned.

Again, we sincerely apologize for the long wait on all our information. All of us at AnimeWorld are passionate volunteers that have been working hard to try and bring you a great convention. Please bear with us as we prep for the 2014 convention season. If you have any questions feel free to give us a message. We’d also like to know what time of the year you would prefer to have the convention at (spring/summer/fall), so please comment below! We’ll try our very best to set up a date that agrees with you.”
