Bonhams: The Crown Auction!

Bonhams will be holding two auctions in February featuring amazing costumes, props, set decorations and more the acclaimed hit series “The Crown” (2016-2023). The Netflix Original now streaming chronicles the life of Queen Elizabeth II from the 1940s to modern times over 6 seasons and 60 episodes.

The Crown series has won multiple Emmy Awards including one for Outstanding Drama Series (2021) and Two Golden Globes for Best Television Series Drama (2017,2021). It is also important to acknowledge the artisans whose fine craftmanship brought the incredible costumes to life having multiple won various awards including Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards for Outstanding Costumes for a Period / Fantasy Series, Limited Series, or Movie in 2017 and Outstanding Period Costumes in 2018 and 2020.

In addition to the auctions fans of the show can visit an exhibition of sets, costumes and props from seasons 1-6, touring New York, Los Angeles, Paris and London. The exhibition dates are January 11-Febuary 7, 2024.

As mentioned there are two auctions planned by Bonhams London, a “LIVE” auction event scheduled for Wednesday February 7, 2024. This live auction has 161 lots featuring main character royal costumes, a gold state coach,1987 jaguar car, coronation chair and so many more interesting lots.

The second auction is The Crown Online Auction currently open for bidding now features 312 lots, ending on Thursday February 8, 2024. This online auction features more costumes from the main cast, set decoration items, weaponry, statues, carpets, furniture and other production related items.

Proceeds from the live auction will go towards establishing the Left Bank Pictures – The Crown Scholarship program at the National Film and Television School.
