Welcome to the Collector’s Hype Blog!
Hello my name is James, I am a collector of Original Film and Television props, wardrobe and various production related entertainment memorabilia.
My interest in collecting began after seeing collector and movie prop preservationist Bob Burns on television with his amazing collection. It was Bob who in part inspired me to want to collect movie props of my own.
The first item I collected was a cast member chairback direct from the set of The Shawshank Redemption in 1993. A movie I was lucky enough to be an extra in. I still have that chairback to this day.
My collecting of original movie props and costumes really picked up in 2009. Since then I am always looking to add something to my collection. Science Fiction movies and television shows are my favorite genre to collect original items from.
To me collecting can be a fun experience and you should collect what you like. Big or small the size or value of what you collect is irrelevant as long as there is enjoyment in it, that’s all that really matters.
My overall goal for the Collector’s Hype Blog is to share news, information and resources about Original Film and Television props, wardrobe and other production related material with those who visit. Thank you for stopping by, I hope you find this site useful!
