The Prop Stop Store Opens for Business!

Launching today on February 19, 2024 is a new venture by the Prop Stop Blog’s Mark Short, a store front offering one of a kind pieces of film and television memorabilia at the Prop Stop Store.

Since 2010 the Prop Stop blog has been where Mark Short has posted a variety of articles covering dozens of subjects in and around the world of collecting original props and costumes including the history of many items.
Having 36 years of experience, Mark Short has went on many quests to find or obtain some amazing pieces. In the early days in collecting memorabilia it was not as easy as it is today. Before the internet connected us Mark had to go through a lot of extra steps to find memorabilia. Some of the steps included but not limited to talking to individuals on the telephone, writing letters, or even hanging around a production facility to find a prop or costume piece. Mark has also attended many in-person auctions over the years in both the United Kingdom and United States. Building relationships and making connections has been central to Mark’s passion for film and television memorabilia history.
“Owning it is never as wonderful as finding it” Short said “What I love is opening a box and seeing something that 40 years ago I sat in a movie theater and I just said man I love that. That’s what keeps me going”.

During his years of collecting Mark has found and brought to market many amazing screen used items. A few of the many items found and now sold over the years include from Home Alone (1990) rubber made Iron used in the film, Dr Hills head from Reanimator (1985), from the action/scifi film the Predator (1987) a communications backpack, Peter O’Tooles saddle from Beckett (1964 and from Star Trek (1967) Ruk the android costume (pictured).
More recently Mark can be seen on television as the Hollywood memorabilia expert on ME-TV’s Collector’s Call. He has showcased his wealth of knowledge on the series educating the collector’s featured in each episode on the items they cherish as well as providing fans of the series some insight. Mark has appeared on 7 episodes of the Collector’s Call television series alongside host Lisa Whelchel with more to come?….
This new storefront venture propstorestore.com is a direct to consumer site, there is no auction just buy it now items. All the items sold will come verified by Mark and include a certificate of authenticity. The store will not be accepting consignments from sellers, all the pieces sold will come from Mark’s collection or items he has obtained himself.
The Prop Stop Store will list 2 or more new items every couple of weeks starting with an initial listing of 30 pieces up for sale upon the grand opening of the site.

I have added links below and throughout this post to both the Prop Stop Blog and Store. I wish Mark the best with his new venture and look forward to collaborating with him again. Happy Collecting!
