This auction also features a once in a lifetime opportunity – the chance to own the worldwide ownership and copyright to the 1975 cult sci-fi/horror film The Giant Spider Invasion. Being offered by the current rights holder and the film’s director, Bill Rebane, this is a rare chance for a member of the public to own the controlling rights to a piece of cinematic IP and chart the path for its legacy. It includes the remake and sequel rights, as well as the original 35mm negative of the film. Also offered from The Giant Spider Invasion is the original life-size Man Eating Spider prop from the film, a legendary piece of 50-year-old cinema history that is in museum quality shape thanks to a partial refurbishment by the Merrill Historical Society in Wisconsin.
