Hello my name is James, I am a collector of Original Film Television props, wardrobe and  production related memorabilia.

My interest in collecting began in the 1990’s after seeing collector and movie prop preservationist Bob Burns on television with his amazing collection, which showcased not only film memorabilia but also the stories behind each piece he acquired. It was Bob who in part inspired me to want to collect movie props of my own, as his passion and dedication were palpable and truly infectious.

The first item I collected was a cast member chairback direct from the set of The Shawshank Redemption in 1993, a cinematic masterpiece that has resonated with audiences for decades. A movie I was lucky enough to be an extra in, and the experience still feels surreal as I remember the excitement of being on set. I still have that chairback to this day on display, proudly showcasing it in my home as a reminder of my journey into the world of collecting and the cherished memories tied to the film industry.

My collecting of original movie props and costumes really picked up in 2009. Since then, I am always looking to add something unique and exciting to my collection. Science Fiction movies and television shows are my favorite genre to collect original items from, as they transport me to imaginative worlds filled with endless possibilities. To me, collecting can be a fun experience that allows people to connect with the stories and characters that have influenced their lives, and you should collect what you truly like.

Whether it’s a rare signed piece from a beloved series or a small, overlooked prop from a classic film, the size or value of what you collect is irrelevant as long as there is enjoyment in it. The thrill of the hunt, the joy of discovery, and the stories each item carries are what truly matter, making this hobby a fulfilling journey that I cherish immensely.
