Featured Prop: Starfleet Phaser Rifle

Primarily I collect props and wardrobe items from the Star Trek franchise and the “featured prop” for this article is a Star Trek “24th century Starfleet Type 3 Mark 3 Phaser rifle from my collection. This Phaser Rifle was originally auctioned by It’s a Wrap on Ebay back in 2007. It’s a Wrap was contracted by Paramount to auction off the remaining props, production items and wardrobe.  This is one of my favorite Star Trek props that I own, to me Phaser Rifles have a cool factor to them.

The Type 3 Mark 3 Phaser Rifle appeared in both Star Trek: First Contact and Star Trek: Insurrection. This Phaser Rifle is a stunt version made from hard rubber and is detailed with two faux buttons, a scope and nylon strap. This type of prop was used as a background and/or stunt piece it’s very detailed to match the fully functional Hero versions of the rifle.

STAR TREK “24TH CENTURY STARFLEET TYPE 3 MARK 3 PHASER RIFLE”

A prop weapon similar to those featured in and after Star Trek: First Contact. This item is rubber cast in gray featuring black accents, a black, textured barrel, scope placement with a graphical application upon it and orange plastic accent, two faux buttons behind the scope, attached stock, and black, nylon strap. The item measures approx. 33 X 8 X 3 inches.
