Icons of Pop Culture launches with a Big Auction!

Some exciting news for the world of television and movie prop collecting! Jeff Castillo (co-founder of ScreenUsed) announced today in the Facebook group “Movie Props” the launch of a new business venture called Icons of Pop Culture. The announcement of this new business comes with the announcement of an auction of props, costumes and production material.

Jeff along with his wife Tammy have 20 years of experience in film and television memorabilia collecting and selling as mentioned Jeff was a co-founder of the much respected and now closed ScreenUsed. Icons of Pop Culture “will take the next step into the future of the hobby” and “will strive to provide that same high quality customer service and reliability that you have grown to expect from us”.

First up for this exciting venture is a Hollywood Auction that will be taking place at the icollector website on Saturday February 16, 2019. Pre-bidding will begin on Wednesday January 23 on all 171 lots that will be apart of this inaugural event.

I am impressed with the line up of items that are set to be sold especially with the costumes from the hit marvel movie Venom!  Venom is an amazing movie starring Tom Hardy in the lead role that did very well at the box office. This is the first time I am seeing screen used items being offered from this movie. In all I counted 21 lots from this film. On the Marvel note there are also 11 lots of props and costumes from The Amazing Spiderman (Andrew Garfield).

If you are a Will Smith Fan, you have an opportunity to own his costume from the film Hancock. Other films and television shows represented with items in this auction include: Back to the Future, The 5th Wave, Starship Troopers, Star Trek, Bloodline, Battlestar Galactica (1978), Child’s Play, Flash Gordon, Ghostbusters (2016), Hook, The Interview, Kevin Can Wait (TV), King of Queens (TV), Pixels, Priest and sooo very much more. Check out the link to the auction to view all the cool lots.

In addition to the Hollywood Auction plans are in the works for the Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween Auction that will feature original costumes including many unique monsters and creature costumes featured in the film. I will provide more information on this as I get it as of now this is scheduled for February 23, 2019 according to their website.

This is all exciting news for collectors and fans of the hobby but most of I am happy to see Jeff and Tammy Castillo back in the business. I wish them much success in this new venture and I look forward to also doing business with them.
